Admissions
Woodham Mortimer Preschool is a committee run preschool just outside of Maldon in Essex. We are registered with the Charities Commission under the charity number 1060526. We are open Monday to Friday mornings 9.00am to 3.00pm term time only.
Woodham Mortimer Preschool operates a waiting list and places are allocated in a date of birth order. We require a deposit to be paid to secure your child a place. This deposit is refundable once your child has started with us, or you can choose to have it taken off your first invoice. You will be contacted before your child’s intended start date to advise of their start date and settling in sessions of which there will be two.
Sessions
For information about our sessions, please see our sessions page.
Show around visits
We highly recommend families to arrange a visit to the preschool with their child to meet staff and to get a general idea of how things operate. This is also a good opportunity to see if Woodham Mortimer Preschool is right for you and your child and put forward any questions that you may have.
During a show around we will discuss information regarding funding, sessions, SEND & health care needs.
A registration form will be given for you to complete.
If you would like to register your child for a space or arrange a visit please do not hesitate to contact us.
Snack Information
Woodham Mortimer Preschool operate a rolling snack during both our morning and afternoon sessions.
At snack time, a drink of milk or water is offered. Water is also freely available throughout the day for children to help themselves.
The snacks will consist of a substantial choice in the morning, a more healthy breakfast style snack and in the afternoons there will be plenty of fruit or vegetables available for the children.
Allergies and dietary needs will be catered for.
Lunch
Woodham Mortimer Preschool promote healthy eating.
All children attending the afternoon and all day sessions are required to bring a healthy packed lunch.
We recommend a typical packed lunch to be :
– One main such as a sandwich, crackers or wraps with a healthy filling
– Some fruit & vegetables- cut to size. Grapes, blueberries, cocktail sausages and similar items must be cut in half lengthways
– Yoghurt or cheese or alternative
– One small treat
Please do not pack spaghetti style chewy sweets as they are a choking hazzard.
Hydration
All children are required to bring in a named water bottle. Fresh drinking water is available to the children through the day at our drink station too. We top up bottles through the day.
Newsletters
Newsletters are sent out at the end of each term via Tapestry and email.
Pre-school Uniform
Although uniform is not compulsory at Woodham Mortimer Preschool, many parents prefer to purchase it to save a child’s own clothes.
